Already commercially available at Partner Communication in Israel

Telmap, the original pioneers in mobile location solutions, today announces the availability of a location-aware Twitter Widget as part of its mobile search, mapping and navigation solution.

Where implemented, Telmap solution users will have seamless access to location-based tweets in their vicinity. Users will be able to view public tweets, and tweets by people they follow, that have a nearby location attached to them. Users will simply need to choose the Twitter Widget from the Widgets Carousel, and all relevant nearby tweets will be presented on the map. Users will be able to select a specific tweet, view and reply to it, as well as drive to the location attached to it, all from within the Telmap application. In addition, when searching for a specific location or point of interest, users can view tweets around that specific location.

Telmap provides white label, hosted and managed search, mapping and navigation solutions to mobile operators, and its vision is about serving all users' needs while on-the-go, while optimizing their user experience. As mobile social networking activity is on the rise, it's only natural that people would look to integrate their social networking presence and activity with their real-time location. Getting recommendations and opinions of places around you from people you know are also more likely to increase users' familiarity and comfort with their environment.

"As the digital and physical worlds converge, Telmap, who is a location-based services innovator, is proud to introduce such a bridge between worlds, enriching one's physical, actual location at a specific moment in time with information about what their online, social network has to say about that location and its vicinity. This provides better content exploration as well as higher level of trust and comfort in the service. Our goal at Telmap is to continue creating such bridges, within the application, which de facto serves as the center of all activity while on-the-go", said Motti Kushnir, Telmap CMO.

The location-aware Twitter Widget is already commercially available at Partner Communication in Israel, an innovative company that strives to stay at the forefront of telecommunications technology and end-user trends. The location-aware Twitter Widget will be available in a variety of additional markets worldwide, in the near future.
