map integration. According to statistics each year more than 1 million people lose their lives in car accidents and several million others are hurt, the new vehicle Google is working on will be able to considerately lower that number.
The first estimates claim that it will cut the number in half, but Google is hoping for a much smaller number.As the smart car they are working on relies mostly on green technology this will not be a vehicle for high speeds, but a safety vehicle that is efficient and good for environment and safety. The cost is not yet an issue as the car will not be available for a few more years, but the estimates are that this vehicle will be quite less demanding for maintenance and more cost effective.
Google is very keen to promote the possibilities that come with owning such a car. They state that the average person looses 52 minutes in commuting each day, and that time can be used to do something more productive. What is the future of this smart car Google is developing is yet to be seen, but the first tests where the vehicle passed over 140,000 miles there was only one little mishap, where the car was rear-ended at a traffic light. That really sounds promising, we can all hope that they will develop such a smart car they dream of and that the number of traffic accidents and lives lost on the road will be much lower.
